
Nicka Kalaydina, MD
Nicka is a highly accomplished educator with a strong academic background and a passion for helping students thrive. She holds degrees in medicine (University of British Colombia), biomedical sciences, and experimental medicine (Queen’s University), bringing a wealth of knowledge to her teaching—whether it’s guiding aspiring medical students, coaching language learners in English, French, or Russian, or training young chess players to think several moves ahead.
A former member of the Canadian Youth Chess Team on multiple occasions, Nicka has competed at high levels and brings this strategic mindset into everything she teaches. Her unique combination of academic excellence, multilingual fluency, and elite-level chess experience makes her a dynamic and inspiring tutor for students of all ages and levels.
My Courses
Nicka teaches chess, Russian, French, English, Biology and Chemistry.
She is also involved in our mentorship program, focusing on guiding student transition from high school to higher education health science including biochemistry, experimental science and medicine.
