Cormac Walsh

Cormac is an experienced English Language Arts (ELA) teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience in Korea and Canada. He brings a rich background in language education, specializing in working with children from diverse cultural backgrounds and helping them grow into confident, thoughtful readers and writers.

Cormac holds a B.A. in English Literature from Concordia University, an M.A. in TEFL/TESL from the University of Birmingham, and a CELTA Certificate from Cambridge University. He is also completing the Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning (MATL) program at McGill University, with a Brevet in progress. He has additional training through the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) Bootcamp, further strengthening his expertise in supporting English language learners.

With two decades of classroom experience across different countries and contexts, Cormac has developed an adaptable, student-centered approach that meets learners where they are. He emphasizes critical literacy practices, inclusive teaching methods, and culturally responsive instruction, creating engaging lessons that resonate with students’ own experiences and interests.

Cormac is committed to building welcoming, respectful spaces where all students can develop strong reading, writing, and communication skills. He believes in the power of language to open doors, connect people across cultures, and spark lifelong learning.
